Loving this North Texas Weather

Infinity 146 and Toby
Toby passed Tuesday morning. He is missed.
So, last night, I’m working on my mac, trying to get rid of some of the junk files and send those that might be needed some day to an external drive for safe keeping (lol), when I notice the rain is getting louder, and the neighbor’s wind chime is ringing non-stop in my ears. Since I’m not hooked up for tele and I only check the weather online when I am going to be out in it, I had no idea a storm was coming. Excuse me, was here. So, I ignored it.

It wasn’t long, maybe a few minutes (maybe an hour – I get lost in time on the mac) when I notice the sound of pea gravel being thrown by the handful at my patio door. Okay, so now I have to check it out. Ta-the-f-ing-la-de-da. It’s 2230 (that’s 10:30pm), and we have hail. Again. This is Texas? This is frakking April? We just had hail ten days ago!

Neighbor's front door.
So, I stand at the patio door and watch as the hail pounds the carport and the uncovered cars across the lot. (Yes. I have that view.) Then I remember that I backed my truck into my covered spot, and (oh hell) the wind is driving the hail in a direction to hit the front of my truck. (Fuck!) I have to complain to someone, so the texting between Dan and I begins. What’s funny here – we were texting each other at the same time which is why this conversation sounds weird at first. We do that a lot:

Other side of complex.
2239: We have hail again!

2240: Omg… I cannot believe how much miss my dog… this is insane…

2243: Not good. I backed my truck n so may get some damage on hood. This is bad stuff.

Outside of pool gate.
2244: Take pictures n case for insurance before n after.

2248: Cant go out there. Id get a concussion. Its like somebody’s throwing rocks at the windows

2248: Ouch.

2249: Wont be surprised to see broken glass in the morn

There was an actual phone conversation here, but  I shant go into the details ;)

Watching lightning storm as the sirens roar.
0522: Morning. How did the storm end?

0524: Quite abruptly when it finally did. Got some pics. Found out that the sirens I was hearing were for tornados!

About midnight. Around the time I decided to go inside.
0527: That’s wild. Did any touch down?

0531: No idea. I thought something had probably gotten damaged nearby n the storm n I was hearing fire trucks or something. Friend on fb noted the sirens started when she was checking for damage. I was like tornado sirens? Wtf? I was out in that taking pics!

0535: Its cold outside. Just lovin this frakking weather up here! Good grief.
