Coming Together as We Come to the End
Before I forget, I believe I owe the class a party. I stated in the post, Popcorn Venus, 28 September, that when I got it right the first time, I would have a party. I've been so busy, I kinda forgot about that. Excluding the sonnet which worked but I didn't like all that much, the first assignment I got right without having to do anything more to it and that I actually liked when I completed it was (drum roll here) the monologue. Actually, that's not entirely true. If we go in the order in which they were due, the monologue is it. However, because we were behind in class, we presented the dialogues first. I got that one right, too! Haha!
So, the semester is quickly drawing to a close, just as we all (yeah, that's me, too) begin to comprehend the significance of the assignments for this class. When you know the theory, you can apply it anywhere; you can see it everywhere (evil scientist's laugh here). Me, I can remember the idea of the theory but have a tendency to forget what it should be called. But I know it when I see it. Isn't that the bullshit definition of pornography? Man, I really must need some sleep.
And here's why. The assignment was a storyboard.
Here are the individual cells.
I was called an over-achiever because I didn't just do stick figures, which was suggested. Okay. Who knows me? Have you not figured me out yet? I swear; I tried to do stick figures. I promise. But even the sticks were turning into elaborate sketches. I tried.
I took my photos - some of my artwork, some of my people (Honey and Baby Girl) - edited them in Photoshop, added a filter to make them look more cartoon-like. Last night until about seven this morning. Told ya I need some sleep. And I haven't been to bed yet. I tried to do that too, but I have too much to do, including cleaning up my computer of all the extra files. The last thing I need is for it to crash at the end of the semester.
Even though I was racking my brain trying to come up with a "storyline" for this assignment, I had fun with it. Oh, damn! I'm finally following instructions. Isn't that what Dr. Reese told us to do the first class of the semester - have fun with it?
Next up: Drag Queen Mud Wrestling!
Quote (that has been hard for me to accept but am beginning to comprehend) for the day: When you allow yourself to fail, you can soar. VOR
